Family Life Project’s Story Is Featured in the News

A conversation about helping families has grown into a mission that continues to make a difference in the community.

We’re excited to share that Family Life Project was recently featured in Town Square Delaware in an article titled “From a Kitchen Table to Life Skills: Family Life Project Helps Families Put the Pieces Together.”

The feature highlights the story behind Family Life Project, the vision that inspired its beginnings, and the work being done to support children, parents, and families.

A Mission That Started with Families:

Family Life Project began with a simple but meaningful concern: families were facing challenges, children needed guidance, and parents were searching for resources and support.

Rev. Willie Davis Jr. and his wife, Brenda, recognized the importance of helping families access the support they needed without feeling judged. What began as a conversation around the kitchen table became the foundation of a mission centered on one purpose: Building Stronger Families Every Day.

Today, that vision continues through programs and initiatives designed to help families find resources, develop skills, and create growth opportunities.

Helping Young People Build Skills for Life

One of the initiatives highlighted in the article is Mosaic Life Skills Academy, a program that helps young people discover their strengths and develop practical skills they can use in everyday life.

The program focuses on areas such as:

  • Financial Literacy: Understanding money and developing responsible financial habits.

  • Entrepreneurship: Exploring ideas, creativity, and business opportunities.

  • Healthy Living: Learning to make choices that support personal well-being.

  • Leadership: Developing confidence and the ability to lead.

  • Social-Emotional Development: Building skills to understand emotions and interact positively with others.

Through hands-on and interactive learning, Mosaic Life Skills Academy gives young people opportunities to explore their abilities and prepare for the future.

Supporting the Whole Family

Family Life Project believes that stronger communities begin with stronger families. Children’s development, parents’ access to resources, education, and opportunities for healthier living are all connected.

That is why our work extends beyond one program or service. Through youth development, family life education, health and wellness, literacy, and social support, we continue working toward opportunities that help families grow together.

Every skill learned, every resource shared, and every connection made can become another important piece in a family's journey.
