— Family Life Project
As Family Life Project approaches its 3rd Anniversary on March 27, we take a moment to reflect on a journey rooted in purpose, guided by compassion, and strengthened by the power of community. What began as a vision to support families across New Castle County has grown into a trusted, community-centered organization dedicated to building stronger, healthier, and more resilient families every day.
Over the past three years, Family Life Project has expanded its reach by creating programs that support the whole family. Through our Youth Development programs, including Dream Savers Financial Literacy, Junior Entrepreneur Club, Digital Club for Kids, Art Enrichment, and Mentoring initiatives, young people have gained access to mentorship, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, digital skills, and creative expression, helping them build confidence, leadership, and a strong foundation for their future.
Through our Healthy Families Initiative, families have been supported through Healthy Lifestyle Coaching, Kids Culinary Academy, and community Health & Wellness Fairs, providing guidance in stress management, nutrition, emotional wellness, and healthy living. Our Family Life Education and Navigation Services, including the Smart Parent Club, Relationship 101, and Resources & Referral support, have equipped parents with practical tools, real-time guidance, and access to critical services, ensuring families are supported, connected, and not navigating challenges alone.
This work has been made possible through meaningful collaboration. By partnering with organizations such as National Health Corp of Delaware, AmeriHealth Caritas of Delaware, TD Bank, University of Delaware, Delaware State University, Claymont Community Center, Bellevue Community Center, Mental Health Association of Delaware, Urban Promise, MSK Community Center, New Castle County, Brandywine Hundred Library, Claymont Library, and Parent Camp, Family Life Project has built a strong network of support that allows families to access resources more easily and feel connected within their communities.
Our commitment to meeting families where they are, whether in community centers, schools, libraries, or neighborhood spaces, has allowed us to remove barriers and make our programs accessible, inclusive, and impactful.
And the impact continues to grow.
In the past year alone, Family Life Project has supported over 200 youth participants, reached more than 2,200 parents through educational and support initiatives, and served over 400 families through community events, wellness programs, and resource distribution efforts. These numbers represent more than participation—they represent lives being touched, voices being heard, and families feeling supported in ways that create lasting change.
But beyond the programs and partnerships, the true impact of Family Life Project is found in the stories. It’s in the parent who feels more confident navigating their family’s needs, the child who discovers their voice and potential, and the families who no longer feel alone in their journey.
This milestone is not just a celebration of how far we’ve come, it is a reflection of the community that made it possible.
To every family who trusted us, every partner who collaborated with us, every donor who invested in our mission, and every supporter who believed in the work, this journey belongs to you too.
As we celebrate on March 27, we also look ahead with intention. Family Life Project is committed to expanding its programs, strengthening partnerships, and continuing to create opportunities for families to thrive—not just today, but for generations to come.
Join us as we celebrate this milestone, reflect on the impact we’ve made together, and continue building a future where every family has the support, resources, and opportunity to succeed.)
